There’s something incredibly special about fall sports. From college football to the NFL and MLB postseason, there’s plenty of excitement to be found, especially when it comes to placing a few bets. That’s where I come in – let’s take a look at where I’m putting my money this week.
Penn State to Make the CFP
This is my top pick in college football this season. No team is more reliable than Penn State, which tends to dominate teams it’s expected to beat while falling short against the top-tier programs. This pattern gives the Nittany Lions a solid 10-2 floor, considering they have games against Oregon and Ohio State on their schedule. The Oregon matchup is at State College, so let’s assume PSU wins that game. The game against Iowa could be tricky, and a potential loss at Ohio State is possible. But that’s it!
Even the critics of quarterback Drew Allar must acknowledge that Penn State is poised to return to the College Football Playoff, thanks to a strong running game and elite defense, even in the absence of Abdul Carter. While some bettors hesitate to take a price like this, I have no qualms. A 10-2 record and a CFP spot for Penn State is a guarantee in my book!

Kyle Shanahan to Win Coach of the Year
Last season was a challenging one for the 49ers, with injuries to key players like Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams, along with some painful late-game collapses. It was another tough year in the Bay Area following a heartbreaking Super Bowl defeat. However, things usually don’t go wrong in consecutive seasons, suggesting that the 49ers could enjoy better injury luck this year. san beda vs letran score today
Their schedule looks manageable following a 6-11 season, and with an over/under win total of 10.5, the expectations are high for the Niners. Robert Saleh is back in San Francisco to lead a defense that has struggled without his guidance in recent years. Though Shanahan may not fit the mold of a traditional young head coach, the 49ers could potentially achieve a 12-5 record and win the division, especially if doubts surrounding Rams QB Matthew Stafford come to fruition.
It baffles me that coaches like Aaron Glenn are priced lower in this market, considering the Jets might only pull off six wins this season.

Clayton McCullough to Win NL Manager of the Year
We’ve all heard the joke, “Can you name the Marlins manager?” But Clayton McCullough and the Marlins could be about to turn the tables. poker face quotes The former Dodgers first-base coach has Miami nearing a .500 record after sweeping the Yankees. While it may be a stretch to expect them to make the playoffs given the strength of the current NL wild card contenders, McCullough is definitely in the running for NL Manager of the Year consideration.
This season has seen a lineup and rotation in constant flux; if Miami had received solid pitching from Sandy Alcántara during the first half, they might have stood a legitimate chance at a wild card berth. While Brewers manager Pat Murphy is a favorite in this category, McCullough deserves recognition for maximizing potential with limited resources, especially if the Marlins finish with a winning record. I might be a bit late to the betting game here, but I’m ready to jump in before their winning streak continues.
